Patna, March 26 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Thursday demanded from the Bihar government to ensure round-the-clock electricity supply at a uniform rate across the state.
Criticising the government's decision to impose higher electricity tariffs between 6-10 PM, CPI state secretary Ram Naresh Pandey called it "unjustified" as power consumption is highest during these hours.
He said the move undermines the intent of providing relief through free electricity.
Pandey alleged here that power cuts have increased ever since the government announced 125 units of free electricity for domestic consumers.
