Hyderabad, Nov. 19 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPM on Wednesday sharply criticised the BJP-led Central government over a series of alleged fake encounters targeting Maoist leaders, demanding immediate judicial inquiries and strict adherence to legal procedures.

Speaking to the media at the CPI state office, CPI State Secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao accused the Centre of encouraging "encounter killings" under the guise of anti-Maoist operations.
