Covid claims one life in Bengaluru, caution urged
Bengaluru, May 26 -- An 84-year-old bedridden man with multiple comorbidities who tested positive for Covid-19 has died in Bengaluru, marking the first fatality amid a recent uptick in cases of the virus in Karnataka, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said on Monday.
The deceased had a history of pulmonary tuberculosis, cardiac issues, and had undergone a hip replacement.
However, a death audit is being conducted to ascertain the extent to which the virus contributed to his death, Rao told reporters here.
