Washington, April 9 -- The COVID-19 death toll in the United States rose above 14,000, according to the latest data published by Johns Hopkins University on Thursday.

According to the university, which provides aggregate figures of the coronavirus outbreak across the globe, at least 14,529 people have died in the United States due to the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in the US since the start of the outbreak now stands at 4,24,945 the highest number of infections in any country.

The data also read that a total of 23,292 people have so far recovered from the deadly virus.
