Bengaluru, May 5 -- A fresh political storm has erupted in Karnataka over the controversial Sringeri postal ballot recount case, even as the Karnataka High Court granted major interim relief to BJP MLA DN Jeevaraj by staying proceedings in a voter ballot tampering FIR and describing it as a "motivated case".
The legal relief comes at the centre of a widening political and institutional clash over the integrity of postal ballots, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleging "vote theft" and a "criminal conspiracy" in the recount process linked to the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections.
