Buxar, April 21 -- Additional District and Sessions Judge-II Manish Kumar Shukla on Tuesday sentenced a government school teacher to life imprisonment in a murder case.
The court convicted the accused, Dwarika Pandey, for the murder of Mahesh Kumar. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the convict.
In case of non-payment of the fine, the convict will have to undergo an additional six months of simple imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on March 26, 2024, following a dispute over money. The accused allegedly took the victim along with him, after which Mahesh Kumar's body was later recovered.
An FIR was registered the next day and after investigation, police filed a chargesheet.
