Srinagar, Oct. 25 -- A Court in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara sub-district sentenced a man to 11 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh after finding him guilty of possessing a commercial quantity of contraband under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The convict was earlier held guilty by the Additional Sessions Judge Handwara, Mansoor Ahmed Lone, under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act on October 21. He was produced before the court under proper custody for the hearing on the quantum of sentence.
