Agartala, June 17 -- In compliance with the direction of the South Tripura district court, officials took possession of the office, including furniture, of the Additional District Magistrate for his failure to pay compensation to a person whose land was acquired for a railway line.
The victim, Dilip Das, had alleged that the land acquisition collector of South Tripura failed to pay him the rightful compensation for the land acquired for the expansion of the railway track. After a series of hearings, the court directed ADM's office to pay compensation to Das. However, the administration failed to comply with the directive despite repeated reminders, sources said.
