Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 15 -- The Principal Sessions Court here on Monday granted bail to activist Rahul Easwar, who was arrested in connection with a defamation case linked to alleged online comments about a woman complainant in a sexual assault case.
Easwar had been in judicial custody for 16 days after police registered a case accusing him of making defamatory statements on social media and of revealing information that could lead to revealing the identity of the survivor, an act prohibited under law. His earlier bail pleas had been rejected by lower courts.
