Kottayam, Dec. 17 -- The Kottayam Commercial Court has held that the story, screenplay, and dialogues of the Malayalam film "Karmayodha" were plagiarised, and directed filmmaker Major Ravi and other defendants to pay Rs 30 lakh as compensation to the original author.

In its verdict, Commercial Court Judge Manish D A ruled that the disputed script belongs to Reji Mathew of Puthuppally, rejecting the filmmakers' claim that the work was independently created. The judgment brings to a close a legal dispute that began in 2012.
