Bareilly, Nov. 8 -- A local court in UP's Bareilly has again rejected the bail plea of Maulana Tauqeer Raza in the September 26 violence case.
Additional sessions judge Amrita Shukla observed that granting bail at this stage could adversely impact the ongoing investigation. The court has scheduled the next hearing for November 11.
The case stems from the September 26 violence, when, despite a curfew in place, Maulana Tauqeer Raza allegedly urged his supporters to assemble at Nawaz Baad Islamia Maidan.
As police attempted to disperse the crowd, violence erupted, with the mob reportedly attacking officers and opening fire.
