Srinagar, Aug. 18 -- A court in Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora sub-district today convicted a man in a decade-old case of rash and negligent driving that led to the death of a two-year-old child and injuries to two others.
Special Mobile Magistrate, Awantipora, convicted the accused Mohammad Waseem Darunder Sections 279, 337, and 304-A of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) at Police Station Awantipora.
The convict has been sentenced to one year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5,000 under Section 304-A RPC, three months' imprisonment with a fine of Rs 500 under Section 337 RPC, and three months' imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1,000 under Section 279 RPC.
The Court directed that all the sentences shall run concurrently.
