Country's security, sovereignty suffered due to lack of development by Congress in North East: PM

Guwahati, Dec. 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the security, unity and sovereignty of the country has to suffer a lot due to the Congress government's policy of keeping development away from the North East states.

Modi said this while addressing a public rally on the occasion of inaugurating the new terminal of the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport at Guwahati. The PM is on a two-day visit to Assam. He also unveiled a statue of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi, the first chief Minister of Assam at the new terminal of the airport.
