Hyderabad, Dec. 14 -- Counting of votes for the second phase of the three-phase Gram Panchayat elections in Telangana began today afternoon.
According to the sources in State Election Commission (SEC), polling, which commenced at 7 am, concluded at 1 pm with a voter turnout of 85.86 percent. Counting of votes started at 2.00 pm across the state.
By 6.00 pm, results for 831 out of 3,911 sarpanch posts and 9,272 ward member posts out of total 29,917 had been declared. The remaining results are expected to be announced later in the night.
