Bengaluru, April 18 -- Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Friday said the decision on caste survey report will not be made in haste and could take a year's time as the government seeks to build consensus and accommodate diverse views.

"This is not something that will happen overnight - it could take up to a year," Jarkiholi told reporters. There are complex issues involved, and the process requires building consensus, and it requires several rounds of meetings, he said, adding, "The government must adopt a conciliatory approach, as such a decision cannot be implemented abruptly."
