Jaipur, Oct. 5 -- The Rajasthan Government has banned the distribution and supply of all 19 medicines supplied by Kayson Pharma, following a cough syrup controversy and the reported illness of children in the state.
The State Drug Controller, Rajaram Sharma, along with a doctor and a pharmacist, has been suspended for irregularities in their duties.
A committee of specialists has been formed to investigate the entire incident and circumstances, a spokesman from the state medical directorate said today.
Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation Limited (RMSCL) Managing Director Pukhraj Sen said the ban has been imposed as a precautionary measure.
Since 2012, 42 out of 10,119 samples collected from the company have failed quality tests.
