Abidjan, Jan. 1 -- : Cote d'Ivoire defeated Gabon 3-2 on Wednesday in the final group match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), advancing to the last 16.

Guelor Kanga opened the scoring for Gabon 11 minutes into the match, and Denis Bouanga doubled the lead 10 minutes later, before Jean-Philippe Krasso pulled one back for Cote d'Ivoire just before halftime, by sending the ball into the back of the net.

In the second half, Cote d'Ivoire increased the pressure and eventually broke down the Gabonese defense. Evann Guessand scored the equaliser in the 84th minute, before Bazoumana Toure, following a perfectly executed high press, netted the winning goal in the 91st minute.
