Khammam, Jan. 20 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday alleged that corporate and fascist forces were diverting economic and social issues in the name of religious sentiment and posing a serious challenge to parliamentary democracy in the country.

Addressing a national seminar organised at the Khammam district headquarters to mark the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party of India (CPI), Bhatti Vikramarka called upon Left parties to collectively move forward and wage united struggles to place checks on forces "misleading the nation" and weakening democratic institutions.
