Prayagraj, March 14 -- A controversy has erupted over a question asked in the Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination held in Prayagraj today.

Objections have been raised regarding a question in the General Hindi section of the paper, with some candidates and organisations claiming that one of the answer options was inappropriate and insensitive.

The disputed question asked candidates to choose a one-word substitute for the phrase "avsar ke anusar badal jaane wala" (one who changes according to circumstances). The options provided were: Sadachari (virtuous), Pandit, Avsarvadi (opportunist), and Nishkapat (innocent).
