Pune, Aug. 18 -- The Maharashtra Electricity Contract Workers' Union has raised strong objections to the hiring of contractual workers at MSEDCL substations, alleging exploitation and violation of labour laws.
Thousands of contractual workers are to be hired by companies, Smart Services and Crystal Integrated Services, to work at hundreds of substations of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
The union has alleged that Crystal Integrated Services is forcing workers to agree to unfair conditions before joining duty.
