Bengaluru, Oct. 17 -- Contractors' Association President Manjunath today expressed concern over pending government payments, stating that bills worth Rs 33,000 crore remain unsettled.
Speaking to media, Manjunath said, "We have met the Chief Minister and ministers concerned several times. Each time, we have been assured that the payments will be cleared soon. However, there has been no tangible action so far."Manjunath added that in the Public Works Department (PWD), bills worth over Rs 8,000 crore are pending, while in the Major and Minor Irrigation Departments, pending bills amount to Rs 12,000 crore. He claimed that these payments have not been cleared under the supervision of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
