Nashik, Oct. 26 -- Continuous rainfall for the third consecutive day has caused widespread damage to standing crops across Nashik district in Maharashtra with heavy precipitation recorded today in several talukas.
The prolonged showers have left farmlands waterlogged in Kalvan, Deola, Satana, and Niphad talukas triggering growing distress among farmers across the region.
The Shiv river in Niphad taluka is reported to be flowing above normal levels, while several smaller streams and rivulets throughout the district have overflowed their banks. Extensive rainwater accumulation in low-lying farmlands has created severe challenges for crop management and harvesting operations.
