Hazaribagh, Sept. 21 -- Persistent rainfall has led to the collapse of three mud houses in Daurwa village, Barhi block, leaving three poor families homeless. A fourth home in the village is on the verge of collapsing.
Forced by the circumstances, the families are living under tarpaulins with their young children. The affected families claim they have been appealing to the block office and local representatives for housing schemes for over a year without success.
A team from the National Human Rights Association, led by state president Krishna Prajapati, visited the village today. The families complained that administrative and political apathy had forced them to live outdoors, exposing them to threats from wild animals and snakes.
