Parbhani (Maharashtra), Sept. 6 -- Alert citizens intercepted a container carrying animals for illegal slaughter in the Pokharni Phata area on Pathri-Majalgaon Road and handed it over to police authorities, an official confirmed today. The operation resulted in the rescue of 26 animals and seizure of valuables worth 44 lakh 10 thousand rupees. Some citizens from Renapur became suspicious upon spotting the container and began pursuing it.
When the container was stopped at Pokharni Phata and thoroughly inspected, authorities discovered 26 animals crammed inside in a completely locked state, far exceeding the vehicle's capacity. The citizens immediately alerted the police, following which the container was brought to Pathri police station.
