Kochi, Sept. 4 -- India's consumer electronics and technology companies have hailed the GST Council's recent rate rationalisation into a simplified 5 and 18 per cent structure, terming it a timely move to enhance affordability and demand ahead of the festive season.
The reforms bring TVs, monitors, ACs, dishwashers, lithium-ion batteries and other products under the 18 per cent slab.
Industry leaders said this will lower costs, widen access in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, and improve compliance.
