Hyderabad, July 12 -- Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai described the Constitution as an instrument of social and economic transformation.

Delivering a powerful and thought-provoking lecture on the Constitution of India at Osmania University on Saturday, he emphasised the enduring strength of the Indian Constitution and the transformative vision of Dr B R Ambedkar.

"The Constitution is very dear to my heart," he said, as he traced its journey from the Objective Resolution in 1946 to its adoption in 1949, crediting Dr Ambedkar's leadership and intellectual rigour in shaping the foundational document of modern India.
