Dharamshala, June 10 -- In a major crackdown on corruption, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Northern Range, Dharamshala, apprehended a serving police officer red-handed while accepting a bribe.

According to an official press note issued by the bureau on June 9, 2025, "Sh. Dinesh Kumar, presently posted as Head Constable or Investigation Officer in Police Station, Rehan Police District, Nurpur, District Kangra, has been apprehended red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 2,000/-from the complainant Sh. Sujal R/O Fatehpur Distt. Kangra."

The officer reportedly demanded the bribe to favour the complainant in an ongoing investigation of a case registered against him and his brother.
