Palghar, Dec. 9 -- A 40-year-old constable has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman inside the Kasa police station in Maharashtra's Palghar district, officials said today.
The incident reportedly occurred last week when the woman had visited the station to record her statement in an unrelated case.
According to police officials, the constable allegedly assaulted the woman within the station premises, raising serious questions about internal security protocols and oversight. Following the woman's formal complaint, a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the BNS pertaining to rape.
