Ranchi, March 24 -- The Congress expressed concern over the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's (JMM) decision to contest the upcoming Assam Assembly elections independently after alliance talks between the two parties failed.
Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh said the party had made efforts to forge an alliance and had offered 5 to 7 seats along with organisational support in constituencies where JMM candidates were to contest.
He said the move to field 21 candidates could lead to a division of votes, particularly in tribal-dominated constituencies.
