Aleru (Telangana), Aug. 4 -- Telangana Backward Class Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today said that the Congress government in the state is committed to ensuring 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies, education, and employment.
Speaking to the media at the Congress party office in Aleru, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, this morning, he said that the party has decided to launch a three-day programme in Delhi from August 5-7 to press for the implementation of the BC quota.
A special train carrying Congress leaders, including AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, and ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vakiti Srihari, has left for Delhi.
