Nashik, Aug. 12 -- The Nashik District and City Congress in Maharashtra will stage a protest march tomorrow to the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) office here to against alleged corruption in the procurement of onions and to demand better prices for farmers.
The march, to be led by former Agriculture and Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, will take place at Nafed's Onion Batata Bhavan on the Mumbai-Agra Road.
According to Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Vice President Rajaram Pangavhane, onion farmers in the state, particularly in the Nashik district, are being compelled to sell their produce at distressingly low prices.
