Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 8 -- The Congress in Kerala has announced a statewide agitation from October 14 to 18 over the alleged theft of gold plates from the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple, demanding the immediate resignation of the State Devaswom Minister.
KPCC president and MLA Sunny Joseph said the party viewed the issue "not just as a case of stolen gold, but as an assault on temple faith, tradition, and the sanctity of Sabarimala."He alleged that the Devaswom Minister had knowingly shielded those accused of stealing gold plates from the temple and even reinstated them in duties despite prior knowledge of their involvement.
