New Delhi, Nov. 13 -- The Congress party on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the union Government's handling of the deadly car bomb blast near the Red Fort, which claimed 13 lives, terming it as a major intelligence failure and a worrying delay in official response. The party has demanded that Home Minister Amit Shah take responsibility for the security lapse.

"Forty-eight hours after the blast shook the national capital, the union Cabinet finally acknowledged what the entire nation already knew: this was a terror attack," said Pawan Khera, Chairman of the AICC's Media & Publicity Department in a statement issued at a press conference.
