New Delhi, Sept. 28 -- Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav today alleged that the BJP government is now targeting the rural residents of Delhi, with the sword of demolition hanging over the 300-year-old East Mehram Nagar village near the IGI Airport, a move his party will not allow to succeed.

He claimed that the saffron party's aim is to uproot the poor, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been fighting to protect the rights of Dalits and the underprivileged.

Yadav said that the villagers of Delhi will not be intimidated by pressure and will stand up to fight against the injustice being done to them.

He warned that Delhi Congress will not allow even a single house to be demolished in the 300-year-old East Mehram Nagar.
