Shimla, April 26 -- Amid ongoing political exchanges between the BJP and Congress over the women's reservation issue, BJP media coordinator Karan Nanda on Sunday hit back at the Congress, accusing it of indulging in "baseless allegations" and playing politics over women's rights.
In a statement here, Nanda alleged that the Congress had never been serious about women's empowerment and was now "shedding crocodile tears" as the BJP takes concrete steps in that direction.
He said the opposition party was attempting to mislead the public by raising unfounded claims. "The Congress has neither vision, nor policy, nor intent, nor leadership left, and is therefore trying to divert attention from real issues," he added.
