Hyderabad, Nov. 11 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday said that the Congress Party is committed to ensure that the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election is conducted in a free and democratic manner.
In a video statement, he said that the Congress has always upheld democratic values and appealed to the Election Commission to take strict action against any leader who violates the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
He said that if any political leader enters the constituency during polling hours in violation of election rules, cases should be registered irrespective of party affiliation.
"We request the Election Commission to act firmly. Whoever violates the rules should face action," said Prabhakar.
