Chandigarh, April 18 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said today that opposition parties, including the Congress, are opposing the Waqf Amendment Act only to gain political mileage.
He also said that opposition parties, both at the national and state levels, are quietly praising the public welfare policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while sitting in their homes, particularly his vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, and Sabka Vishwas'.
However, these parties, in an attempt to maintain their existence, are left with no choice but to stage dharnas and protests, the CM maintained.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while speaking to media persons in Beed Mathana village, in Kurukshetra district on Friday.
