Saharanpur, Oct. 5 -- Congress MP from Saharanpur, Imran Masood, has sharply criticized the Uttar Pradesh police for what he termed as "selective action" in the aftermath of the recent communal violence in Bareilly. He accused the state government and police of treating different communities with double standards.
Masood, addressing the media on Sunday, questioned the "police crackdown on Muslims" following the violence that erupted in Bareilly after Friday prayers on September 26. He alleged that many innocent Muslims were being falsely implicated and sent to jail without proper evidence.
