Thrissur, Dec. 13 -- After a decade, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has wrested control of the Thrissur Corporation from the Left Democratic Front (LDF), winning 33 out of the total 56 seats.
The LDF managed to secure 11 seats, while the NDA won 8 and others claimed 4.
BJP MP Suresh Gopi, who had won from Thrissur in the last Lok Sabha elections, could not make a significant impact, although the party managed to increase its tally by two seats, up from six in the previous election.
