Hyderabad, Aug. 5 -- As part of its three-day campaign in Delhi to push for 42 per cent reservations for Backward Classes (BCs), several Telangana Congress leaders, including Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, along with MLAs and BC association representatives, left for the national capital from Shamshabad airport on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that, in line with Rahul Gandhi's commitment to social justice, a house-to-house survey was conducted across Telangana to assess the population of SCs, STs, and BCs. Based on the survey, the sub-committee, cabinet, and legislative assembly approved the 42 per cent BC reservation bill, which was then sent to the President through the Governor.
