New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- The Congress on Wednesday expressed deep shock and grief over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who was killed along with his co-passengers in a plane crash, calling the incident a devastating loss for the state and national politics.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the untimely death of Ajit Pawar was "deeply shocking and profoundly distressing," noting that the senior leader still had a long and promising political journey ahead of him.
"The news of the tragic demise of Shri Ajit Pawar, in a plane crash, is deeply shocking and profoundly distressing. It is an untimely loss of a leader who had a long and promising political career ahead," Kharge said in a post on X.
