Hyderabad, Oct. 18 -- Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the state-wide bandh called by the BC Joint Action Committee (JAC) demanding 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes in local body elections was a "complete success," with people participating voluntarily across Telangana.

Speaking near the Amberpet intersection, Mahesh Kumar Goud said no party has shown the same level of determination towards the welfare of BCs as the Congress.

"We conducted the caste survey and took concrete steps towards social justice. Soon, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, we will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek approval for the BC Bill," he said.
