Mumbai, June 5 -- In a setback for the Congress in Maharashtra's Buldhana district, senior leader and former MLA Dilip Kumar Sananda has resigned from the party and announced his decision to join the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on June 12. The joining ceremony will take place in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Sananda, who represented the Khamgaon assembly constituency for 15 consecutive years, is expected to bring along thousands of workers with him, marking a substantial loss for the Congress in the region.
