New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- In a significant organisational push, the Congress on Wednesday announced a nationwide expansion of its AICC Law, Human Rights and RTI Department down to the district level, with at least five active coordinators to be appointed in every administrative district across the country.

Addressing media persons after a meeting of state panel lawyers and members of the National Executive Panel of the department, AICC Law, Human Rights and RTI Department chairman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the move was part of a broader expansion programme being spearheaded by the Congress' top leadership, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
