Ranchi, Jan. 5 -- Opposing the Central Government's proposed changes to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday organised a foot march under the banner MNREGA Bachao Sangram. The march was led by state Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh and proceeded from Bapu Vatika to Lok Bhavan.

The march was attended by Jharkhand Congress in-charge K. Raju as the chief guest, while senior leaders Siribela Prasad, Bhupendra Maravi and Pranav Jha were present as special guests. Before the march, Congress leaders and workers paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and took a pledge to continue their struggle against the proposed amendments to the MNREGA law.
