New Delhi, Nov. 27 -- Amid escalating speculation over the Chief Ministerial post in Karnataka, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced on Thursday that the party's central leadership, including Rahul Gandhi, will hold a collective discussion with CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar to resolve the issue.

The internal power struggle, which has simmered since the Congress's victory in May 2023, intensified after the state government reached the halfway mark of its five-year term on November 20. The speculation is fueled by a rumoured "power-sharing" agreement involving a 2.5-year rotational Chief Ministership between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar.
