Shimla, Aug. 23 -- BJP media in-charge and legislator Randhir Sharma today launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh state government, alleging that it has failed to handle disaster situations with seriousness and preparedness.
He said that whether the damage caused by a disaster is small or large, for the poor it is always devastating, yet the Congress government has failed to respond responsibly.
Sharma alleged that field staff do not visit affected areas unless pressured by legislators. Their duty, he stressed, is to reach the spot immediately, assess losses, and provide relief, but this basic responsibility is neglected.
