New Delhi, June 23 -- The Congress on Monday accused Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw of a 'conflict of interest' and demanded the contract for the Dahod rail engine plant in Gujarat be investigated by a Parliamentary committee.
Senior party leader Brijendra Singh, while addressing a press conference here, claimed that Ashwini Vaishnaw's decisions clearly indicate a "conflict of interest."
He alleged that the multinational company Siemens, which was awarded the contract for the Dahod plant, had Vaishnaw as its Vice President in the past. Therefore, the Congress is demanding the formation of a Parliamentary inquiry committee to ensure transparency in the entire matter.
