Pune, Oct. 9 -- Senior Congress spokesperson Gopal Tiwari today strongly demanded that the Prime Minister take strict action, not just issue a social media post, against the person who attempted to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India (CJI) in the Supreme Court.

Tiwari condemned the act, stating that it was carried out by someone blinded by casteist and religious fanaticism in the name of Sanatan Dharma.

He urged that an Atrocity Act case be registered against the alleged perpetrator, Rakesh Kishore, stressing that this would demonstrate genuine respect and reverence for the Indian judicial system.

Calling the incident a direct attack on the judiciary, Tiwari said the Prime Minister must go beyond social media condemnations.
