New Delhi, Dec. 24 -- Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devender Yadav has issued an open letter urging the urban poor of Delhi to join a campaign demanding the implementation of an Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme in the capital, citing record unemployment rates.

In the letter, Yadav stated that such a scheme would provide fixed days of employment, allowing the poor to live with "dignity, equality and social stability without being dependent on anyone."The call comes amid broader political debates on employment guarantees and social welfare.
